May is nearly over, and though COVID restrictions are starting to lift, life definitely has not returned to normal. We are in Phase II of reopening, but still so many are prevented from going back to work. And we know the tension between the Governor’s office and the Republican National Committee regarding the RNC Convention scheduled in August in Charlotte. Will the Convention have to be moved?
But while the suspense about the convention continues, the CARWVC is finding its feet. We are at 27 members, we have found a new Secretary, and we are moving ahead with plans for our meetings over the summer.
At our May meeting, we heard from Kyshia Lineberger, candidate for RNC Committeewoman from North Carolina. The election for RNC Committeewoman and RNC Committeeman will occur at the NC GOP Convention which is scheduled in July in Greenville. Kyshia talked about the RNC Convention, her thoughts about the role of the RNC Committeewoman, and the need for North Carolina to harness the power of the Republican National Committee to keep the liberal policies of Northern Virginia from creeping over the boarder. Kyshia was so inspiring, we had six new members join that night.
I am looking forward to seeing where this club is going to go and what new modalities we are going to explore as we build and grow this club. I hope you’ll join us!
